Aztech Services Australia (ACT Branch) implemented the use of Dry Ice Blasting for the first time in the removal of Lead Paint in the Powerhouse Building located close to Canberra Airport.
The scope for this project included the demolition of an internal wood structure, the remediation of walls and floors using dry ice blasting, and a chemical stripping on internal and external windows, door frames, eaves and verge stripping removal.
Enclosure and wash down facilities were built and NPU were installed in strategic areas of the building to allow airflow through the area. During the project execution, there was continuous monitoring of CO2, O2 and sound levels.
This project was completed on time to satisfaction of the client, following safety procedures and no LTI.
